Instructions

Make the Cream Puff Pastry:

    - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy removal.

      - In a saucepan, combine 1 cup water and 1/2 cup unsalted butter, bringing it to a boil over medium heat.

        - Once boiling, add 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon sugar all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a cohesive ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

          - Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the mixture to cool for about 5 minutes.

            - Add the 4 large eggs to the cooled mixture one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

              - Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe small mounds (about 1.5 inches in diameter) onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced at least an inch apart.

                - Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the puffs are golden brown and firm to the touch. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.

                  Prepare the Apple Cinnamon Filling:

                    - In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add the diced apples and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until they are softened.

                      - Stir in 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Continue to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the mixture to caramelize slightly. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.

                        Make the Cream Filling:

                          - In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1/4 cup powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat on high speed until stiff peaks form, ensuring a light and airy cream.

                            Assemble the Cream Puff Pastries:

                              - Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the tops off the cooled cream puffs, creating a lid for each.

                                - Fill each puff with a generous spoonful of the apple cinnamon filling, followed by a dollop of the whipped cream filling.

                                  - Place the tops back on the filled cream puffs to complete the pastries.

                                    Garnish:

                                      - Just before serving, dust the assembled cream puff pastries with powdered sugar and add a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon for an extra touch of flavor.

                                        Serve:

                                          - Arrange the finished cream puff pastries on a beautiful serving plate. Enjoy these delightful Apple Cinnamon Cream Puff Pastries with friends and family!
