Ingredients

1 pound bacon, chopped into small pieces

1 package (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded

6 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for added flavor)

Fresh chives or parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking.

Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and golden brown. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess grease.

Prepare Biscuit Dough: Carefully open the package of refrigerated biscuit dough. On a cutting board, cut each biscuit into quarters (you can do this by cutting them into halves, then halves again). Place the quartered biscuits into a bowl and set aside.

Whisk Eggs: In a large mixing bowl, crack the six eggs, then add the whole milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika (if using). Whisk the mixture vigorously until it’s well combined and slightly frothy.

          Assemble the Bake:

            - Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.

              - Spread the quartered biscuit pieces evenly across the bottom of the dish.

                - Evenly sprinkle the crispy bacon pieces and the shredded cheddar cheese over the biscuit base.

                  - Carefully pour the egg mixture over the top, ensuring that it seeps into the spaces between the biscuit pieces for a thorough soak.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. The dish is ready when the egg is fully set and the top layer is beautifully golden brown.

Cool and Garnish: Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for approximately 5 minutes. This will help the layers settle. Before serving, garnish with freshly chopped chives or parsley for a vibrant touch.

Serve: Using a sharp knife, cut the bake into squares. Serve warm on individual plates, and consider pairing it with a side of fresh fruit or a light salad to complement the rich flavors.
