Ingredients

3 ripe bananas

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup dark chocolate chips (substitute with milk chocolate for a sweeter treat)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional; for a smooth chocolate finish)

1/2 cup crushed nuts (such as almonds or peanuts, for added crunch)

1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional; for extra texture)

Wooden popsicle sticks

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Begin by peeling the bananas and slicing them in half. Carefully insert a wooden popsicle stick into the cut end of each banana half, creating a sturdy handle. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your banana pops on it.

Make the Peanut Butter Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, gently warm the peanut butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until it becomes warm and slightly runny. This will make it much easier to coat the bananas. Stir the peanut butter well to ensure a smooth, creamy consistency.

Coat the Bananas: Take a spoon and generously spread the warm peanut butter over each banana pop, making sure they’re evenly coated. Once coated, carefully return the banana pops to the lined baking sheet.

Prepare the Chocolate: In another microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Heat this mixture in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth in texture.

Dip the Banana Pops: Once your chocolate is melted, dip each peanut butter-coated banana pop into the chocolate, ensuring they are completely covered. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back on the baking sheet.

Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle the crushed nuts and shredded coconut over each dipped banana pop. This adds a delightful crunch and extra flavor to your treats.

Freeze: Carefully transfer the baking sheet with the chocolate-covered banana pops to the freezer. Let them freeze for at least 2 hours, or until they are completely solid.

Serve and Enjoy: After they’ve frozen, gently remove the banana pops from the parchment paper. Serve them immediately for a delicious, refreshing treat, or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for later enjoyment.

Presentation Tips: For an added touch, serve the banana pops on a colorful platter. You can also drizzle extra melted chocolate over them right before serving for a beautiful finish!
