Ingredients

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Optional: Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

Prepare the Green Beans: Rinse the fresh green beans under cold water and trim the ends to remove any tough parts. Use a paper towel to thoroughly dry them, which helps achieve that extra crispiness when frying.

Set Up the Breading Station: Line up three shallow bowls for a smooth breading process. In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, place the beaten eggs. In the third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix the dry ingredients well to ensure an even flavor distribution.

Coat the Green Beans: Take a green bean and dip it into the flour, coating it lightly and shaking off any excess. Next, immerse it in the beaten eggs so it's fully covered, allowing the excess to drip off. Finally, roll the green bean in the panko mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even and secure coating.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for around 3-5 minutes, allowing it to reach the perfect temperature for that crunchy finish.

Arrange for Crispiness: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the breaded green beans in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they have space around them so they can crisp up evenly without overcrowding.

Air Fry to Perfection: Cook the green bean fries in the preheated air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes. Be sure to shake the basket halfway through to allow even cooking and browning. The fries should emerge golden brown and irresistibly crispy.

Serve and Enjoy: Once your green bean fries are finished cooking, carefully remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute or two. Serve warm alongside marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce for a deliciously fun snack.
