Instructions

Prepare the Baking Pans: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour three 8-inch round cake pans to ensure easy removal after baking.

Make the Vanilla Layer: In a medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract. Gradually alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk, mixing until the batter is smooth. Pour this batter into one of the prepared pans.

Make the Chocolate Layer: In another medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar as before. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until incorporated. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients with the milk, stirring until just combined. Pour the chocolate batter into the second prepared pan.

Make the Strawberry Layer: In a medium bowl, sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well. Fold in the pureed strawberries gently, ensuring they are well mixed. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just smooth. Pour this strawberry batter into the third prepared pan.

Bake: Place all three cake pans in the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before gently transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Frosting: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy and smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, beating until the frosting is light, fluffy, and spreadable.

Assemble the Cake: Once all the cake layers have completely cooled, place the vanilla layer on a serving platter or cake stand. Spread a generous layer of frosting on top. Place the chocolate layer on top and repeat the frosting process. Finally, add the strawberry layer and frost the entire cake with the remaining frosting.

Decorate: Garnish the top of the cake with fresh strawberries, arranging them artfully. A light dusting of cocoa powder can add a nice touch, and you can pipe additional frosting around the edges for a decorative finish.

Serve: Slice the cake into generous pieces and serve to your guests. Enjoy the delightful blend of flavors with every scrumptious bite!
