Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (for extra depth)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 large egg

1 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)

Oil for frying (vegetable or peanut oil)

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup Sriracha sauce (adjust according to your heat preference)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon rice vinegar

Sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Add the chicken pieces to this seasoned flour mixture, tossing them until they are fully coated.

Set Up the Breading Station: In a separate bowl, beat the egg until it is well mixed and slightly frothy. Place the panko breadcrumbs in another shallow dish. Take each floured chicken piece, dip it into the egg, ensuring it is thoroughly coated, then roll it in the panko breadcrumbs for an even covering. Set the breaded chicken pieces aside on a plate.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or frying pan, pour in enough oil to cover the bottom (about 1/4 inch deep) and heat over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). To test if the oil is hot enough, drop a small piece of bread into it; it should sizzle and brown quickly.

Fry the Chicken Bites: Carefully add the breaded chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches, being cautious not to overcrowd the pan. Fry each batch for approximately 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Once done, use a slotted spoon to transfer the chicken bites onto a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Prepare the Honey Sriracha Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir the mixture well and bring it to a gentle simmer. Allow it to cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly.

Coat the Chicken: Once all the chicken bites are fried, place them into a large mixing bowl and pour the honey Sriracha sauce over them. Gently toss the chicken to ensure every piece is generously coated in the sauce.

Serve & Garnish: Arrange the chicken bites on a serving platter, then sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top for a pop of color and flavor. Serve them immediately as a delightful appetizer or a flavorful main dish.
