Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken works wonderfully)

1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your preferred variety works best)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for optional garnish)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper; this ensures easy cleanup.

Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the BBQ sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and finely chopped green onions. Mix thoroughly until the chicken is evenly coated in the barbecue sauce and seasonings.

Roll Out Crescent Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and carefully unroll it onto a clean, flat surface. If there are perforations between the triangles, pinch the seams together to create a cohesive sheet of dough.

Cut the Dough: Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut the dough into equal-sized triangles, aiming for pieces that are roughly 4 inches at the base for even baking and filling.

Add the Filling: On the wider end of each triangle, place approximately one tablespoon of the BBQ chicken mixture. Top each with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese to add richness and flavor.

Roll Them Up: Starting from the wide end, gently roll the triangle towards the pointed end, enclosing the filling snugly. Be sure to pinch the ends of each crescent bite to seal them securely, preventing any filling from escaping during baking.

Egg Wash: Once shaped, arrange the crescent bites neatly on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of each bite with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful, golden finish when baked.

Bake: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the bites are golden brown and the cheese has melted beautifully.

Garnish and Serve: After baking, remove the crescent bites from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for an appealing touch before serving warm.
