Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 large flour tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 medium tomato, diced

1/2 cup pickles, sliced

1/4 cup ketchup

1/4 cup mustard

Cooking spray or olive oil, for frying

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet, heat over medium heat. Add the ground beef (or turkey) and cook it until browned, breaking the meat apart with a spatula as it cooks. Once browned, drain any excess fat from the skillet.

Season the Meat: To the browned meat, stir in the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, along with salt and pepper. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the meat to finish cooking. Once done, remove the skillet from the heat.

Assemble the Tortilla Pockets: Place a tortilla flat on a clean surface. In the center of the tortilla, carefully spoon about 1/4 cup of the cooked meat mixture. Generously sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Add a handful of shredded lettuce, some diced tomato, and a few slices of pickles. Lastly, drizzle ketchup and mustard over the top of the filling.

Fold and Seal: Gently fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a secure pocket. Ensure the filling is tucked well inside as you roll. If necessary, use a toothpick to secure the pocket closed.

Cook the Tortilla Pockets: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a light coating of cooking spray or olive oil. Place the filled tortilla pockets seam side down in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are beautifully golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Carefully remove the tortilla pockets from the skillet and allow them to cool for a minute to avoid burning your fingers. Slice each pocket in half for easier handling, and serve them warm with additional ketchup and mustard on the side for dipping.
