Ingredients

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup mixed nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, and pecans), roughly chopped

1/2 cup sunflower seeds

1/2 cup dried fruit (options include cranberries, cherries, or raisins)

1/2 cup natural nut butter (choose either almond butter or peanut butter)

1/3 cup honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Optional: 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Dish: Start by lining an 8x8 inch (or similar size) square baking pan with parchment paper. Make sure to leave some overhang on the sides, making it easier to lift the granola squares out later.

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, sunflower seeds, dried fruit, and ground cinnamon (if using). Stir everything together thoroughly until evenly mixed.

Combine the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the nut butter, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and sea salt until the mixture is smooth and uniform. If your nut butter is too thick, microwave it for about 15 seconds to soften for easier blending.

Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the nut butter mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Use a spatula or your hands to combine them well until all components are evenly coated with the wet mixture.

Press into the Pan: Transfer the combined mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use your hands or the back of a spatula to press down evenly and firmly. For a smoother finish, place an additional piece of parchment paper on top and press down again to avoid sticking.

Chill to Set: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours to allow the granola squares to firm up, which will make slicing much easier.

Cut and Serve: After the mixture has set, lift it out of the pan using the overhanging parchment paper. Place it on a cutting board and slice into squares or bars according to your preference.

Store Properly: Store any leftover granola squares in an airtight container. They can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a week, or at room temperature in a cool, dry spot for up to 5 days.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes | Servings: 16 squares

                    - Presentation Tips: To enhance presentation, serve the squares on a wooden platter and sprinkle a few additional nuts and dried fruits around for a colorful touch.
